Our Community

A small but vibrant community of around 650 residents in total situated on the beautiful Scottish Solway Coast, the parish consists of the village and hamlets of Kirkbean, Carsethorn, Southerness, Prestonmill and Mainsriddle.

Our History

The parish of Kirkbean is steeped in history both human and natural. this website is operated by the Kirkbean Parish Hertitage Society with the aim of gathering together some of that history and making it available to the public.

Our new website is still largely under construction so please don't be alarmed if there are errors, missing pages or empty sections. Work is on going to complete the site and have it running fully by the Summer of 2024.
